Giant Oatmeal Cookies

What could be more wholesome tasting than giant oatmeal cookies? These rich-tasting cookies are sure to please and are oh-so-satisfying.
These giant cookies are great with tea.
Giant Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup of butter, shortening, or margarine
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or maple flavoring
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 cup boiling water
2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
Making Oatmeal cookies
Beat together shortening, sugar, and flavoring. Stir in flour and salt. Dissolve baking soda in boiling water. Stir into flour mixture. Add remaining ingredients.
Form 18 balls, roll dough into rounds. Place 9 cookies per sheet. Bake at 325 for about 20 minutes until cookies are golden.

Oh yeah, that picture makes my mouth water, gotta soft spot for oatmeal cookies and giant ones would only be better. Got me dreaming of a big glass of milk now.
Ha ha, me too! What is it about giant cookies that are sooooooo enticing? Must be because they appeal to the kid in all of us.
I made these today with maple flavoring and they are so yummy.
