Delicious Devil's Food Cake

If you love chocolate, you'll love moist devil's food cake. The addition of coffee is the secret ingredient that gives this devil's food cake its rich flavor.
This cake makes up in no time, and is sinfully good!
Delicious Devil's Food Cake
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cocoa
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. baking soda
Stir dry ingredients together. Add:
- 1 egg
- 2/3 cup salad oil
- 1 cup milk
Mix well, then add:
- 1 cup strong hot coffee
Scrape into a greased and floured pan and bake 325 degrees, reducing to 300 towards end of cooking time. Poke cake with a cake tested to make sure middle is done.
Set cake to cool. When Devil's food cake is completely cooled, ice with chocolate icing.
Icing for Devil's Food Cake
Melt 4 tbsp. butter in saucepan. Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup cocoa. beat in 1-11/2 cups icing sugar. Add 1 tsp. vanilla and 2-4 tbsp, of milk to make frosting spreading consistency.
