Christmas Cheese Ball

Mmm . . . a creamy-tasting cheeseball coated with chopped walnuts . . . just perfect for spreading on crackers!
Do you enjoy sampling cheese balls? Have you ever tried making one? they are very easy to put together and once you make one, you'll wonder why you put of trying it.
A cheese ball is especially nice to serve at Christmas time--something a little different to add to the festivities. It can be a focul point, surrounded by an assortment of crackers.
This Christmas cheese ball is sure to please. It is made with Hellman's mayonnaise and the addition of chopped walnuts gives it the wow factor.
I served this cheese ball and my guests raved about it as they spread it on crackers. I like the chopped walnuts which add to the visual effect.
This can be made ahead of time and chilled before company arrives.
Cheese Balls Ingredients
- 1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
- 1/4 cup Hellman's mayonaise
- 1/2 small tin ground ham or turkey (flake with fork)
- 1/4 tsp. Tobasco sauce or hot sauce
- 1 tsp. minced onion (or dried onion flakes or chopped chives)
- 1-2 tsp. chopped parsley (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- a shake paprika
Mixing Cream Cheese & Mayonaise
Cheese Ball Instructions
- Mix cream cheese, mayo, and ham together
- Add Tabasco sauce, onion & paprika to taste
- Mix in parsley or pat around outside of cheese ball
- Coat the cheese ball with the chopped nuts until entire surface is covered
- Chill for a couple of hours
Making a Cheeseball
You can make your Christmas cheese ball a day ahead and cover it with a bowl. Treat as you would any dish with meat.
Christmas cheese balls can be served on a festive plate/platter and decorated with sprigs of ornamental holly or mistletoe.
An actual cheese ball server with a lid helps to keep your left-over cheese ball fresh.

I especially like this, because I've had to eliminate alot of cheeses from my diet to watch my cholesterol. Mayo, and cream cheese in moderation are allowed. So I can actually have this! Yay!
